Here is a short excerpt from The Twin Flame Rebellion:

“What are you watching?”
Mica looked up from where he sat on the pebbly shore, to see Emerald approaching him. Her wings were beating powerfully yet silently, and they lowered her down gently to where she came to rest beside him.
“Velvet and Laguz. It’s been a while since I last checked in on them, I was curious to see how they were getting on.”
Emerald sat down on the pebbles, shifting about until she was comfortable. She looked down at the glassy surface of the lake. “And how are our beautiful Old Souls doing?”
Mica looked at his Flame and frowned. “Not great, actually. They’re struggling financially, and I can see that Laguz’s light is dimming under the weight of the responsibility to keep the Twin Flame Retreat going. I feel a little bad that I left the Retreat to them, that I pretty much forced them to take it on, and didn’t even ask them if it was what they wanted. I just couldn’t bear the thought of the Retreat not continuing when so many Flames needed it. And when it was something that you and I built together.”
Emerald took his hand. “I can understand that, and I don’t think they saw it as a burden. But I can see that perhaps they feel they must continue to run it, to honour us, and that if they felt they needed to do something else, they might not choose that path.”
Mica nodded, and watched Velvet as she hung up some washing on the line in the garden. “Have we messed with their Free Will? And in doing so, have we messed with the bigger picture?”
Emerald thought about it for a moment. “It’s an interesting question. I don’t know if anyone has even seen the bigger picture since Starlight left for Earth. I wonder how different it is to the original timeline, when Velvet went home to the stars.”
“Is there anyone here we can ask? Pallas? Gold?”
“I’m not sure they have access to it. Why don’t we contact Starlight? Ask her through her dreams to show us. After all, she is the Angel of Destiny, if anyone would know, it would be her.”
Mica got to his feet and held out his hand to help Emerald up too.
“Let’s do it.”
“Right now?”
Mica smiled. “Now is all there is.”
