Merry Christmas!!

Or Happily Holidays!
Just wanted to post a thank you to everyone who follows and reads my blog, to all the fans and readers of my books, and to all my friends and family.
I had an amazing day yesterday, taking part in the London Basket Brigade, which made sure that 4000 people across London will have a decent Christmas dinner. It was amazing to see so many of my fellow firewalkers, and to meet new friends too.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and an awesome new year, love and light to you all. Xxxx

Only 4 Sleeps to go!

Not long to go! I have been busy coming up with activity ideas for the two days I am volunteering for Crisis, and I’m pleased to say that my sponsor total is now £256.62! I have now set a target of £302.68, only because that will provide 14 people with a place at Crisis this Christmas.

Thank you so very much to all who have sponsored me, you are all awesome!!

There’s still time to sponsor me if you’d like to, the address is: virginmoneygiving.com/michellegordon7

Here’s a new video, found this today, made me smile 🙂

Crisis Fundraising Update

WOW! I was totally blown away yesterday, by the incredibly generous sponsors who have brought my current fundraising total up to £231.62!!

I am so very glad that I put decided to do the sponsoring page now, I wasn’t planning to originally, but I figured that every little helped, and even if I was able to raise enough money for one person to have a happy Christmas, it would be worth it. But to have already have raised enough for 10 people to have a warm Christmas? Incredible.

A big thank you to all my sponsors so far – Becky, Sally, Marc, Megan, Helen, Donna, Rachel, Annette and George. You are all superstars and I love you all!

Here is another video that has touched me. It started off as an experiment, to see if people would give to a homeless child, and then something happened during the experiment that had me in tears. Watch to the end, and have some tissues.x

Adventures with Astrid – December 2014

This is the first post of a series I will be posting on a monthly basis. In the last week or two, I have had some major life realisations, thanks to a bunch of seemingly unconnected and random things, all mixing in my mind to create an AHA! moment. As a result of these realisations, I have made some decisions on how to move forwards.

The main decision, is that I want to become more organised and start making long-term plans. I have always been good with setting short-term goals and completing them, but long-term ones just don’t happen. I never usually plan more than a month in advance, and hate it when I have to. But I am going to change this, by planning out my entire 2015, in January. Obviously, not every single day will be planned out, there will still be room for synchronicities and spontaneity, but I will book events, and plan where I am going to be, what projects I am doing and also put a financial plan into place. To do all of this, I have taken the first step, which is to purchase an organiser.

Now, most years, I get calendars and diaries, and by the end of January, I’ve stopped using them. So this time, I have had to get creative. I am putting everything into my organiser – my goals, dreams, to do lists, addresses, diary, notes – everything, so that I am more likely to keep it with me at all times. And to ensure that I bond with it, and don’t give up using it, I have even named it!

So let me introduce you to Astrid:

I bought extra inserts and of course, unicorn and rainbow 3D stickers, because let’s face it, planning doesn’t have to be boring!

Now, I know that going from being a short-term planning procrastinator to a super productive long-term planner is not going to be simple and straightforward, and I will need to use a variety of techniques and get people to help me in my weakest areas, but I am writing this post, and I am sharing this with the world, because I am making a commitment to my future, to my success, and to living my life fully. And if I happen to find things that work for me, then I hope they may work for others too.

The major planning session is going to happen after Christmas, at the moment I am just gathering ideas and energy to implement these changes and to figure out what 2015 is going to feature.

So I hope you join me on my adventures with Astrid, it’s going to be an interesting ride!

(Oh and if you have any good tips, please do comment below and share! Thanks 🙂 )

Fundraising Update

I wasn’t expecting to do an update so soon, but thanks to my beautiful sponsors, my total has increased a lot since my post yesterday, and now stands at £96.62! (With gift aid, it’s over £100, which means that 5 people will have their Christmas at Crisis paid for!) One of the donations was from my dad, who was feeling upset because his wallet was stolen, but then he read my blog post and realised that there were others out there who were worse off than him, and that he was grateful that he had food, shelter and friends. He recorded a song to capture his gratitude, which you can see below. Thank you Dad.

If you would like to sponsor a few pounds, the link is uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MichelleGordon7 It all goes to Crisis and is all very much appreciated.

As promised, here is a video that has touched my heart, and highlights how homeless people have become invisible on the streets.

The Basket Brigade and Crisis at Christmas

Just wanted to write a post to tell everyone about my Christmas plans! For many years now, I have wanted to volunteer over Christmas, and do a little something to make a difference. Last year, I wanted to take part in the Basket Brigade in London, and wasn’t able to, so I decided that I definitely would this year. And I figured that while I was in London, it would be a great idea to also volunteer for Crisis, as the homeless situation in this country has very much been in the forefront of my thoughts over the last few months.

<iframe src=”//player.vimeo.com/video/100890530″ width=”500″ height=”281″ frameborder=”0″ webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen>

The Basket Brigade takes place on the 23rd of December, and on that day, hundreds of volunteers will gather to pack food into basket hampers, and then deliver them to people in need all over London. You can find out more about it and see videos and pictures here, and please, if you are in London, do consider joining us for the day! It’s going to be a lot of fun, and I cannot wait!

crisis

Crisis is a charity that provides shelter, hot food and entertainment for homeless people all over London, and I will be volunteering for them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Over the past few months in Brighton, and any time I have spent time in London, seeing people sleeping on the streets has been something that has bothered me a lot. I have done a little to help, providing food and drink when I can, but it wasn’t until a friend of mine found himself homeless that it really did hit home that really – becoming homeless could happen to anyone at anytime. And I know, that if it weren’t for my amazing family and friends, and the help of credit cards, I could easily have ended up in the same situation.

And so, though I haven’t got the spare money to donate this Christmas, I am donating my time, hugs, smiles and creativity to try and make someone’s Christmas. I have set up a fundraising page, so if you would like to sponsor me, then you are most welcome. So far, I have had two very generous donations that will ensure that two people get a Christmas at Crisis.

There have been so many amazing videos and articles that have gone viral on the internet, showing people doing acts of kindness for the homeless, and in my updates on the fundraising, I will share videos that have touched me the most. I will start with this one, because I think it beautifully illustrates what I have said about it happening to any of us.

Earth Angel Series Kindle Boxset!

As I work like crazy to get The Twin Flame Reunion ready for sale, with the help of the fabulous madappledesigns, I have just released the Earth Angel Series Boxset on Kindle. The boxset contains the first three books in the Earth Angel series and is cheaper than buying the three books separately on Kindle!

Earth Angel Boxset

I wanted to release the boxset to encourage anyone who was interested in reading The Twin Flame Reunion of read those books first, so that they know who the characters are and what is happening in the point just before the book begins. To make it clearer how the books fit together (because they are not particularly sequential, I have put together a little graphic below!

You can pre-order The Twin Flame Reunion on Amazon, and as those who follow my blog and Facebook know, I have just taken part in Nanowrimo, and completed the next novel in the series, which is to be titled The Twin Flame Retreat. So if you are just getting into the Earth Angel Series, the latest book will be ready in the new year, probably in February.

I hope this little graphic helps to make the structure of the series a bit clearer! It’s become a bit of a jigsaw puzzle…
