An Earth Angel Makeover

This gallery contains 1 photo.

Hello! Before you ask, no, it’s not me whose had a makeover! The Earth Angel Series has! While the books are currently available on Amazon, and in bookstores in the US, they weren’t available in bookstores in the UK or … Continue reading

Just keep writing… Just keep writing…

I love Dory. I have a memory just like her, and I’m excited about her new movie coming out – Finding Dory. But don’t worry this post isn’t about a forgetful blue fish.

Two weeks ago I finished writing my last novel, called The Twin Flame Resurrection, and have since been doing the basic first edit ready to send it out to my beta readers and get feedback before the first main edit. I plan to get it published by October, which is quite a tight deadline, but completely possible.

The Twin Flame Resurrection

But just to make things interesting, I have decided to keep writing, and start the next Twin Flame book in the series, tomorrow. I did the same thing last year – within two weeks of finishing The Twin Flame Reunion, I wrote The Twin Flame Retreat, and I wrote it in a crazy two weeks.

After reading a very interesting post by Russell Blake on how to sell loads of books, I was interested to see that his 6th point was to do 25% marketing, and 75% writing. I would say that currently, I have been doing the exact opposite. I market a lot more than I write. And I have decided to change this around.

Also, my numbers for the Earth Angel series have changed. I am now thinking that there is likely to be thirteen books in the series in total, and if I were to stick to my current formula of publishing one Earth Angel book per year, I figure it will be 2023 before the final book is released.

That is just too far away!

So, the only way to increase the number I publish each year and get the series out faster is to write more than I market (and procrastinate). I am also desperate to get writing another trilogy I have in mind and more books in the Visionary Collection. In which case, I really do need to just keep writing.

So there may be a few less blog posts over the coming month again, as I throw myself fully into another novel. I have to admit, I haven’t got a clue what will be happening in this one, which characters will appear, what dramas will unfold or who might not make it to the final page, but I’m excited to be jumping back into that world so quickly, because everything seems to flow so much better when there isn’t too much of a gap in between books.

If you are a fan of the Earth Angel series, and there a character you would like to see featured in the next book, comment below or on Facebook or Twitter. I will see what I can do!

New Cover Reveal!!

I know I have been very quiet lately, and I do apologise – things have been so busy! And April looks to be even busier, because I plan to release my latest book – The Twin Flame Retreat – on the 25th April! (Hopefully in both paperback and Kindle on that date). This new book is the direct sequel to The Twin Flame Reunion, and follows five new characters as they meet their Twin Flames.

My incredible amazing sister, the genius behind madappledesigns, has worked her magic again and has created the new cover, which I am so excited to share with you! Are you ready? Drum roll please!

And because she is just that awesome, Liz has created the 3D version of the cover, which I must admit, made me squeal like a very happy Faerie!

Isn’t it beautiful? I cannot wait for you to read it! I have really enjoyed writing and creating this latest instalment to the series, and going by the beta feedback so far, I think everyone will enjoy it!

I will post updates on how the publishing is going throughout April!

P.S. Apologies for the excessive exclamation marks, I’m a bit excited 🙂

A Room of One’s Own

Virginia Woolf’s famous quote, that to write fiction, a woman must have ‘a room of one’s own’, is something I once believed to be true. That it was important to have the perfect space to compose my stories in.

But though I still dream of having a roll-top writing desk, and a stunning view, (as evidenced on my pinterest board) having written nine books now, I have come to realise that it’s not really necessary to have those things to be able to write. I have written the majority of my books while sitting on my bed (not the best thing for my posture, I know, no need to lecture me) or on the sofa, or in various other places, some of which had a view, some didn’t.

wpid-20141124_160402.jpg

Admittedly one of my favourite views, when I sat on the beach to write parts of my latest book.

I’ve also come to realise that as long as I can write on some form of computer, I don’t need special equipment to write on either. I don’t have any special tools, a writing totem or any kind of ritual at all. I do need plenty of snacks usually, and have to stay hydrated and warm, but there ends the necessities.

Part of me would love to have some bizarre writing ritual, that had to be performed before a writing session, just to add a little more eccentricity to my life. But over the last few months, I have come to realise that in fact, the only vital ingredient necessary for me to write well and enjoy myself is this:

Excitement.

If I am excited to tell the story, it doesn’t matter where I am, what I’m wearing or what view I have. All that matters is that I can let that story flow quickly through me and out into the world. And if I lose my excitement for the story, no amount of rituals or special tools are going to coax it out of me onto the page. (Well, certain snacks might do the trick, especially a good lemon meringue pie)

When I finished writing The Twin Flame Reunion, I had no intention to plunge straight into the next book, because I usually allow a bit of time in between books. But the story had already begun taking shape in my head, and as it was the season of Nanowrimo, I felt excited to get the next instalment written. So I went for it. And my excitement for the story meant that I finished the novel in the shortest time it has ever taken me to write a book.

No sooner had I finished that one, did I want to write another. Suddenly, all I wanted to do was write. And not just in my usual genre for my established collection and series, but I also had ideas for trilogies and other series of books that I felt excited about. Writing and publishing only two books a year now feels like too little. I feel like I haven’t really pushed myself enough, that I’ve been slacking too often.

So don’t be surprised if you find that by the end of this year, I have written way more than that, because that is definitely my intention – whether I have a room of my own or not.

Earth Angel Series Kindle Boxset!

As I work like crazy to get The Twin Flame Reunion ready for sale, with the help of the fabulous madappledesigns, I have just released the Earth Angel Series Boxset on Kindle. The boxset contains the first three books in the Earth Angel series and is cheaper than buying the three books separately on Kindle!

Earth Angel Boxset

I wanted to release the boxset to encourage anyone who was interested in reading The Twin Flame Reunion of read those books first, so that they know who the characters are and what is happening in the point just before the book begins. To make it clearer how the books fit together (because they are not particularly sequential, I have put together a little graphic below!

You can pre-order The Twin Flame Reunion on Amazon, and as those who follow my blog and Facebook know, I have just taken part in Nanowrimo, and completed the next novel in the series, which is to be titled The Twin Flame Retreat. So if you are just getting into the Earth Angel Series, the latest book will be ready in the new year, probably in February.

I hope this little graphic helps to make the structure of the series a bit clearer! It’s become a bit of a jigsaw puzzle…

Nanowrimo Winner 2014!

IMG_0174.JPG

Was thrilled last night to reach 50,000 words and become a Nanowrimo winner! I decided to do a little video on my experience with Nano over the last five years since I first discovered it. You can watch the video below. High fives to everyone who took part this year, you are amazing!

Announcement! New book title unveiled!

I know that I haven’t yet published the latest book in the Earth Angel series – The Twin Flame Reunion, but I’m excited to announce the title of the next one in the series, that will be published in the new year. It will be called:

The Twin Flame Retreat.

I have written twenty thousand words of the book so far. It has a slightly different structure to The Twin Flame Reunion, and it follows different characters, so you get a different perspective on the story. I haven’t got a cover design yet, but I will post it here as soon as I do! I have created this quote photo using a quote from the brand new book, I hope you like it! As always, please feel free to share it!

I better get back to my writing. You can pre-order The Twin Flame Reunion from Amazon now, and I will keep you updated on when the print version will be available.

Can You Change Your Fate?

Or I guess better question might be – Should you?

I believe that we should have the choice. That if we choose to go right instead of left, our choice is respected by the Universe, and we are free to make that decision.

But I have found that when I try to change my own fate, as has been laid out by readings I’ve had, visions of my own and what I feel to be the path I am on – nothing works out. Things get stuck, plans go wrong, and frustration sets in. As soon as I move towards the path laid out for me – synchronicities and flow are restored and everything happens with ease and joy.

Which is just a little bit irritating at times.

Because it seems my set path and my desires do not always align. And I don’t know what to do about that. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve always had a ‘life’s too short, do what you want to do now, not later’ mentality. Which means I can be quite impatient at times. It may be that I get to be where I want, with who I want to be with and doing what I want to do – later along this set path. But in this moment right now, ‘later’ is just too far away.

Then again, it’s interesting that I have never been one to plan for the future. I recently read a book called ‘Scarcity: Why having too little means so much’ and it had some very interesting theories in it. The authors say that when there is a scarcity of something, whether it is money, time or love, then the ability to plan ahead, to see further than the present moment, is greatly diminished, or even non-existent. Which means that people who live with a scarcity mentality live purely in the now, and so don’t often save or invest money, or invest their time in projects that will benefit them later on, or be content to wait for the right person to be with.

Reading the book really hit home to me that I have lived my whole life with a scarcity mentality.

I didn’t save up money, I used credit cards if I needed/wanted something.

I didn’t want to attend university to get qualifications because it would take three years, and that was too long, it felt like a waste of time. I didn’t even stay in school to do A-levels, because another two years was too much, I had to get out, and start living, worried that there would not be enough time.

I have become pretty much addicted to technology, because of the ease and speed of it. I love my kindle because if I want to read a book, I can download it in seconds. I love my phone because I get my messages through wherever I am, and googlemaps means I never have to get lost.

I am proud of what I have done so far, and my impatience has served me well in some cases, but I do know that there are so many things I could have done, had I trusted that there was enough.

If I had trusted there was enough time, I might have endured University so that I could get some qualifications, and be working in a decent job right now, instead of having to take on minimum wage jobs when funds are low. I might have saved up money for the things I wanted, and waited until I could afford them, rather than buying now and paying for the interest later. I might also have slowed down a little, enjoyed myself along the way more, rather than zooming from one thing to the next.

If I had trusted there was enough money, I would have created savings, I would have invested, and I would have made better plans for my future. I would have a pension, and I would have figure out how to retire young so I don’t have to work my whole life. I wouldn’t have made silly decisions in the spur of the moment, and I wouldn’t have taken on jobs I hated or tried to start businesses just to make money quickly.

If I had trusted that I was loved, I wouldn’t have been in such a rush to grow up, to meet someone. And if I trusted that the love I have is eternal, I wouldn’t be in such a hurry now to get this stage of my life over with so I can return to the embrace of the one I love.

I don’t do regrets. I have no regrets for the life I have lived so far. It has been a journey I needed to take, to be able to complete my mission, which is to help people. So even if I had a time-travel machine, I would probably still not go back in time and change anything.

But I also believe that once you wake up, there is no going back. Recognising my scarcity mentality has meant that I can no longer live with it. I can no longer tolerate my impatience, and that I need to begin planning for my future, and looking further ahead than the present moment in which I find myself in. Otherwise, in a year’s time, or even in ten years time, I may find myself in the exact same place I am in now. Only older and possibly with more debts!

All I need to decide now, is what I would do if I trusted that there was enough.

There is a story that I think illustrates it perfectly. There is an older couple chatting on the wife’s 70th birthday. She says to her husband that it was always her dream to be a lawyer, but that she never did it. So he suggests that she train to be one. She protests, saying that it will take five years to do the degree, and she would be 75 by the time she qualified. He replies that she will be 75 in five years no matter what. So it’s her choice if she is 75 with a law degree, or 75 without one.

If you trusted that there was enough, what would you do? Do you believe you can change your fate? I’d love to hear your thoughts, please do comment below.

The Twin Flame Reunion

Twin Flame Pain? Read this now

Dear Beautiful Twin Flames,

In response to the many Earth Angels who are reaching out and searching for answers in relation to their Twin Flames, I am being called to offer one to one Skype Sessions throughout November. I would love to be able to help you personally with issues you may be having with your Twin Flame, whether you are with them now or not. If you would like to book a session, then please email me so we can discuss a suitable time to talk. (theamethystangel@hotmail.co.uk)

I so look forward to speaking with you!

First Video in Brighton!

Since moving, I have not posted any oracle card readings, I do apologise for that. I did record a couple with an amazing Australian guy I met, but it was quite windy on the beach, and unfortunately, the sound wasn’t very good. If I find a way to fix the videos, I will post them at some point.
So last night, I recorded an oracle reading at my friends house, to answer a question that was sent to me by a lovely Earth Angel called Rosa. I was joined by the beautiful Mishy, you can watch the reading by clicking below:

If you would like to ask Aria, Amethyst or Velvet a question, please do send them to me at theamethystangel@hotmail.co.uk and I will record the answer. But also, as I point out in this reading, the most important thing is to listen to your own intuition and inner guidance, because deep down within, you know the answers to all of your questions!

As always, please like and share this post with your friends, it is very much appreciated.
