Working myself into a Nano Frenzy!

Wondering what the hell a Nano Frenzy is? I will explain!

As I have set myself the task of publishing two books a year, I am in need of a book to publish this summer. And I haven’t written it yet. I have already had a couple of e-mails asking me where the next book is, so I thought I had better get going!

So having decided I would write my new book in April, I then received an e-mail from the beautiful folk at the Office of Letters and Light, telling me they are running Camp Nano in April this year! And you can set your own wordcount. Perfect!

So I promptly signed up, and set my wordcount to 75,000. Yes, that’s right, 75,000.

Oh and did I mention I will be doing a couple of Mind Body Spirit fairs, working,  and getting on with the marketing for my other books, too?

Have they perfected the science of human cloning yet? I may need another me…

Smashwords

I have been meaning to make my books available on Smashwords for quite some time now, and I have finally got round to formatting them and uploading them to the site. You can view my page here. I have so far uploaded  Heaven Dot Com and The Doorway to PAM. I will be uploading The Earth Angel Training Academy and The Earth Angel Awakening very soon! On Smashwords you can buy books in ever conceivable format, so no matter what e-reader you have, you will find something compatible.

In other updates, after the success of the Mind Body Spirit Fayre at the Speech House Hotel, Yvonne and Gary are holding another Fayre, in Ross on Wye Conservative Club on Saturday the 3rd November from 10am to 5pm. I will be there selling my books, so come along and say hello!

Back to the formatting now, my life is still very busy, and I have today to catch up with my to-do list. Hope you are having a great week so far!

February 2012

It’s a month into the new year, and I have not been posting every week, I know! But I have been very busy! Editing, setting up a publishing business, quitting my job, going on holiday, sorting out my art studio and desk… and that’s all just in the last six weeks! I knew this year would be a busy one, but it has already exceeded my expectations of busyness.

I have spent the entire day in front of two laptops doing research, Tweeting, and setting up the basics of the new publishing business. I know that in order to make money with the business and sell a few copies of my books I need to be on the social networking sites and make myself known, but I miss the times when I would go on my computer to actually write! I know, I’m complaining about social networking on my blog, don’t worry, the irony of that hasn’t escaped me. I’m not really complaining as much as commenting on the fact that I spend more time on my computer than I ever used to, and yet my productivity as a writer is so much lower than it used to be too.

But would there even be any point in writing my next book if I didn’t do the networking now to guarantee some readers?

I guess the answer to that depends on how important it is to me that people read my words. I know that those who have read my books have enjoyed them and have in some way been inspired or moved by them, and in some ways, that’s enough. But I would very much like to reach more people.

Which means I suppose I’d better get back to my Tweeting…
