Local Author Events at the Malvern Book Co-operative

I am happy to say that I was contacted by the Malvern Book Co-operative to be a part of their local author week from the 13th to the 18th May. There will be several local novelists taking part, and I am looking forward to it!

On Tuesday the 14th, at 7.30pm, there will be a ‘Speed Pitching’ evening, where the authors will be pitching their novels in a few minutes. (Apparently like speed dating only without the embarrassing chat up lines!) Then afterwards there will be time to chat to the authors about the good bits and bad bits of writing and publishing.

Then on Thursday the 16th, between 1pm and 4pm, I will be in the shop in Malvern, doing some writing and having a cuppa, and would love it if any other writers or budding writers wanted to join me for some informal writing/chatting about writing and publishing. I would be happy to answer any questions or make any suggestions 🙂

Then on Saturday the 18th, there will be two sessions of the local novelists coming in to sign their books and chat with readers. We would love to see you there!

Please pass this on to anyone you know in the area. You can find the Malvern Book Co-operative on Facebook too.

A Spiritual Weekend!

I spent last weekend in the stunning Wye Valley, in the beautiful home of Annette and John of Wye Valley Healing. The intention was to write 20,000 words of my new novel, but the end result was closer to just … Continue reading

In need of inspiration…

Having got so far behind on my wordcount in the last week, I have hidden myself away in a beautiful location, courtesy of some lovely friends of mine, who have very kindly opened their home to me. It’s hard to … Continue reading

Working myself into a Nano Frenzy!

Wondering what the hell a Nano Frenzy is? I will explain!

As I have set myself the task of publishing two books a year, I am in need of a book to publish this summer. And I haven’t written it yet. I have already had a couple of e-mails asking me where the next book is, so I thought I had better get going!

So having decided I would write my new book in April, I then received an e-mail from the beautiful folk at the Office of Letters and Light, telling me they are running Camp Nano in April this year! And you can set your own wordcount. Perfect!

So I promptly signed up, and set my wordcount to 75,000. Yes, that’s right, 75,000.

Oh and did I mention I will be doing a couple of Mind Body Spirit fairs, working,  and getting on with the marketing for my other books, too?

Have they perfected the science of human cloning yet? I may need another me…

You are beautiful!

And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!!

Hello from sunny California!

I took the photo above in Venice yesterday, it’s on the side of the Tao healing centre. Wouldn’t it be amazing if there were positive messages like this everywhere?

Anyway, I just wanted to write a quick writing update- I have resumed writing my latest novel, and while chilling out here in the sunshine, I plan to write as much of it as possible. So far I have been mostly writing on trains, planes and in waiting rooms, but tomorrow, I shall be writing on the beach! Purely because I’ve never tried that before!

I’m only at around 14,500 words, and as always, I haven’t the faintest idea where the story will take me, so we will just have to wait and see! As soon as I know the title, I will post it here.

For now, I’m just going to enjoy being in San Diego. I really do think I’m in love with the place!

Oh and I will post next week about the big Conscious Living Expo I’m going to. Looks like there will be some amazing talks and workshops.

I’ll see you soon, Beautiful!

The Story Cubes Challenge! #1

This gallery contains 1 photo.

For Christmas, my lovely friend, Rachael Barnwell, bought me a set of Rory’s Story Cubes.  Though I’d never come across them before, I thought they were a fantastic idea, and they certainly kept the kids amused for a while! Seeing as … Continue reading

The Elphite is now available!

The Elphite

The Elphite is now available on Amazon in paperback, and on Kindle. Buy your copy now and get it in time for Christmas!  You can read more about The Elphite in my last blog post. The official launch is on the 21st December, in Peace of Stone in Monmouth, and there will be nibbles, mulled wine, cake and bucks fizz! There will also be signed copies available, and if they arrive in time from America, some limited edition merchandise too!

I haven’t blogged much recently due to being so crazily busy, releasing a book this close to Christmas, while working full time, working on my own business and still finding time to eat and sleep is a bit crazy, I may have to revise my publishing schedule for next year!

Well, it’s time to eat now, I look forward to feedback from my readers on my latest novel!

I surrender…

Okay, so I admit defeat, I will not win Nanowrimo 2012. I guess it was just too ambitious to try and do it alongside editing and formatting The Elphite, working, doing Mind Body Spirit Fairs and 4sighting at 4Networking meetings. Oh and being Marketing Assistant for Monmouth 4N too. And attending birthday party weekends. And – well, you get the point. I tried to do too much, and have just been too tired to focus on writing anything. Also, I hadn’t quite got the right format – but I’ve now figured out how the story should be written. So once my life has calmed down a little, I plan on resuming my writing.

The Elphite is done, (does a happy dance) and I am just waiting on approval before ordering the proof copy. Am crossing fingers that there’s enough time to order the launch copies!

I’ve actually begun to get a little organised on the Christmas present front, and I even have an outfit for the wedding I’ve been invited to on the 29th December.

I’ve had a bit of a chill out this weekend, and plan to chill again tomorrow, although I will get some things done too!

For anyone who thought I was mad…

After doing several talks about my writing, and having more than  few people tell me I’m mad (or amazing) to write my novels in a month and to be publishing two books a year – take a look at this amazing lady. She has written a book a month for the whole year! By the time she begins Nanowrimo (during which, she plans to write TWO books!) she will have written TEN novels!

Now that’s prolific! And inspiring… I wonder if I could do the same next year?!

Well, I’m all signed up to Nano, will be beginning my next novel in just three days, wish me luck!
