The Magical Faerie Door

On the 8th December 2018 I released my very first children’s novel! The Magical Faerie Door is the first in a magical series I am creating for children from 8 to 12, (though so far my older readers have been enjoying it too!) and I have to admit, I have been having a lot of fun!

I worked with an amazing artist, Rachel Miller, to bring the book to life, and I absolutely adore the cover image she created, as well as the smaller pencil illustrations that she created for each chapter. The book is available in hardback and on kindle, with the audiobook version (my first audiobook!) coming at the end of January 2019 on Audible.

We launched the book at the Abergavenny Cwtch Winter Wonderland fair, with the help of an amazing child-sized faerie door that was handmade by Jon Fellows of Sacred Tree Spirit. For the first time, I read out parts of the books to a very attentive audience, and we had so much fun! In my second reading of the day, I got to the end of the first chapter and the adults listening looked at me and went – well keep going! We need to know what happens!

As well as being a magical adventure that all ages seem to enjoy, The Magical Faerie Door touches on the subjects that are very close to faeries’ hearts – the environment and the destruction of it. We are destroying the natural world and are therefore eradicating the faeries and magic from this planet, and I feel that if we don’t inspire people to change their ways, then it won’t be long before there are no faeries left.

And I for one, do not want to live in a world with no faeries! It would be like living in a world with no colour, no music, no laughter and no joy.

Anyway, here are some photos of the book and the launch, if you would like a signed copy you can purchase one here, and you can also get copies on Amazon.

Embracing Uncertainty

I’m nosy.

There. I said it. I’m really nosy! I hate being out of a loop or kept in the dark, I hate not knowing what’s going on an what’s going to happen next. Very much like the main character in The Earth Angel Training Academy – Velvet. She spends most of the book wondering what the hell is going on and getting annoyed when others seem to know what the bigger picture is and she doesn’t. Come to think of it, I’m quite like Aria the Faerie too. She’s always eavesdropping and spying on other people’s conversations. Hmm.

Because of my need to know everything, I have had many, many readings, from mediums and psychics and intuitive friends, all in my quest to know what’s going to happen. Most of the time, those readings bring comfort because they just reassure me that no matter what is going on in the present moment, it’s all going to turn out just fine. Which, let’s be honest, that’s the main reason why anyone has a reading – to be told – it’s all good!

The problem I have been experiencing, is that there have been predictions made in these readings that I don’t like. I’ve been told that things will happen, that quite honestly, I don’t want to happen. (not because they’re bad, but because they’re not things I would choose to experience). And so I set on a quest to choose the opposite. After all, we have free will, right?

But no matter how hard I was choosing, in further readings, the same predictions came up over and over, and it seemed like everything was conspiring to make this path happen.

So I gave in. I said – fine, if this is what is mean to be, then I’ll do it.

I thought that by giving in and going with the flow, the rest of my life would fall into place and start working. But it didn’t. In fact, I found I was even more stuck, because unconsciously I was stopping doing things that might take me down that path I didn’t want to go down.

So I made a new choice – I don’t want that life. It is not my choice. And even if the path I am choosing is a little more rocky, so be it.

All of this, of course, made me realise that sometimes, knowing what our future holds can be a big problem. Because we get attached or repelled by what we’re told is to come. And it affects our decisions, and our ability to remain in the present moment.

Yesterday I was reading excerpts of The Earth Angel Training Academy, and I found this quote, from the Rainbow Children, when they are asked to predict someone’s future. Despite my nosiness, and the fact that I know so many mediums and psychics that I have great respect for, I think it’s time that I let go of all the predictions, let go of my need for certainty, and embrace the wild ride of life on a moment to moment basis.

Of course, the ironic thing is, that once we let go of the predictions and live in the moment, we tend to end up creating the future we wanted anyway.

Don’t you just love how the Universe works?

PS. I still recommend having a reading if you are looking to connect with someone you’ve lost, or you need reassurance that you’re on the right path, but no matter what comes up, do your best not to get too attached to it.

Launching Soon!

I am very pleased to announce that the Earth Angel Training Academy online classes will be launching on the 20th January!

Earth Angel Training Academy 1

The first class will be Remembering 101, and it will cover the different types of Earth Angel, so you can see which type you identify with. There are downloadable PDFs, so you can print them out, and there will be an audio file for each section too, which will also be downloadable, if you would rather listen to the information.

I will be holding live hangouts for the students once a month, and there will be a private Facebook group for the students to be able to interact with each other and with me!

I will release a new class each week, and there will initially be seven classes, with other classes on the Golden Age Children, and Twin Flames to come too.

I’m incredibly excited! So many beautiful Earth Angels have been asking for this, and after the success of the live classes last year, I knew I had to make it happen, so that my beautiful readers all around the world all had a chance to join in.

To register your interest in the Academy classes, and download your free PDF of The Earth Angel Training Academy, click here, and you will be the first to be emailed with the link to the Academy when it is live and with a discount code!

Catching the Hogwarts Express…

It’s September 1st! Time to get to King’s Cross, and run through the wall to Platform 9 3/4 to catch the train to Hogwarts.

Don’t worry, I haven’t completely lost the plot, I promise. I have just decided that as of today, I am going to invite more magic into my life on a daily basis. I have been much more aware of the magical nature of the forest, as I have been seeking out magical things to photograph and post on Instagram, but I think it’s important to bring magic into everything I do. Especially the things that I’m not so fond of doing!

I think that so much more is possible when we are in a state of excitement and enjoyment and feeling like things are magical. More opportunities arrive, things go more smoothly, ideas flow easily and everything just seems like a lot more fun.

Thanks to the dismal British non-summer, I have taken to wearing my extreme-crocheted helmet-hat, which I made the other day. Somehow, knowing I look a little bit silly, brightens my day. (And it has the added bonus of making my partner laugh when he sees me wearing it!)

Yep, I know I look crazy 🙂

So what do you think? Is it possible to make every day life more magical? Is it possible to bring fun and faerie-silliness into even the most boring of tasks? I would love to know your thoughts!

Authors Are Humans Too

I know fellow book-lovers out there will understand what I mean when I say that favourite authors can become like gods to us, and that we can put them up on pedestals, elevated high above us ordinary human-folk. And when we reach out to tell them how much their words have touched us, how much their prose has changed our lives, we are shocked and quite excited when they respond, amazed that they deemed us worthy to reply to.

But honestly, authors are humans too. It was more unusual to get a reply years ago, when snail mail was the norm, because as most authors know, finding writing time can be tough as it is, but handwriting and sending replies to fanmail would eat into that time too much. These days, when you can reply in 140 characters on Twitter, or reply to a Facebook post or a short email quite quickly, the likelihood of getting a response has increased dramatically.

I remember writing to one of my favourite authors as a teenager, in the earlyish days of email, and was very excited to get a reply, even though the reply consisted of a single line. It felt like I had connected, though briefly, with a mythical creature that a mere mortal like me shouldn’t have been allowed to. In recent times, I have connected with several authors on Twitter, and have ended up having conversations with some of them, who have turned out to be genuinely awesome people.

Back in January I received a message on Goodreads from a fellow book-lover and book reviewer, asking for a copy of The Elphite, because she was keen to review it. I responded quite quickly and soon sent a copy of the book. The review she has written will soon be posted, along with an interview, and the brand new cover of The Elphite! She said that she was surprised and extremely excited that I had responded to her request, and sent her the copy, because after all, I was an author, and to get a response from such a mythical, magical creature was unexpected but exciting.

I’ve said it before, but I will repeat it here – I am just a human. I’m not even an incarnated Faerie or a Starperson. Just a mere mortal. And I love hearing from my readers and from potential readers. It is what keeps me writing, keeps me connecting, keeps me creating. So reach out, send messages, all are appreciated and cherished and often printed and stuck on my walls, to motivate me to publish more books.

Sending love out to everyone who has ever sent me messages, you are all amazing. xx

Do you have a question for a Faerie?

Just thought I’d post the latest reading, this one was using the Aria cards. I decided to brave the chilly February breeze and go out into the woods with my wings on (yes, I am a little crazy) to do the reading. It was very windy indeed, so I apologise for the sound problems on the video!! I hope you enjoy it anyway 🙂

Have You Lost Your Way?

I’ve just posted a new reading on Youtube, to attempt to answer a question sent to me from an Elemental called Annette. She has been diverted off her path for some time, and she wanted to know how to get back on track. She wasn’t sure whether to ask Aria or Velvet, and because I felt it was important to have a mixture of both serious and playful advice for this question I decided to ask both. I hope you enjoy the video, and if you have any questions you’d like to ask, please e-mail them to me at theamethystangel@hotmail.co.uk. I hope the advice from Aria and Velvet today helps you to find your path again too. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel or follow this blog so you get updated on new readings that are posted.
