What’s the Story?

Morning glory?

What is your story? What do you tell other and yourself every day about you? What do you say you can do? You can’t do? What do you say you hate? Who do you say you hate? What are your most repetitive thoughts about your faults, your limitations, your imperfections?

Write them all down. Then look at them.

Are any of them actually true? Or are they just stories?

I have always told the story that I am not a morning person. Always. Hate the mornings. Only time I don’t mind is when camping, and that’s only usually because the sunrises are amazing, and it’s too hot in the tent, and I need air.

Other than that – NOT a morning person. AT ALL.

I always feel fuzzy headed if I get up early. I feel more tired. I never get things done early in the morning.

All just stories. All lies too.

I started working in a normal job this week, needs must and all. And on the first day, I was sat in traffic for 30 mins. It was so boring! I thought to myself – if I left earlier, I would miss the traffic, and get to work in plenty of time to do something I want to do before I start.

So for the last two days, I have been getting up at 6am. Leaving the house at 7am, missing all the traffic, seeing the most beautiful sunrises, and then getting to work with and hour and a half to do what I want. In that time, I have edited a chapter and a half of audio book. Then I have been working, getting home by 5, eating, watching TV to chill out, then watching my awesome friend, George Hardwick on FB live, writing a blog post, catching up with friends, making my lunch for the next day, and getting into bed by 10.30pm.

I have never felt more awake and productive and energetic.

I have changed my story. I am a morning person. I am more productive when I get up early. I can get my own stuff done and work 9 to 5.

Being a morning person is not genetic, it’s a story. It’s a programmed, conditioned thought. And I have changed it. I am reprogramming myself. I am really enjoying my early mornings, my tea in my travel mug. and getting the audio editing done (creating the audio book is another thing I thought I would hate doing, and resisted for ages. I’m really enjoying it!)

So what are your stories? What would you like to change? Think about it. Write it down. Then rip it up and write a new story.

Taking Time Out

Apologies for the lack of posting recently, it seems like the Universe wanted me to take a little time out, which manifested in not feeling very well! I have blogged about this before, that if we don’t choose to take time out, to rest, relax and replenish, then we are likely to be forced to take time out, by our body or some incident that happens. Just keep writing… Just keep writing…

I love Dory. I have a memory just like her, and I’m excited about her new movie coming out – Finding Dory. But don’t worry this post isn’t about a forgetful blue fish.

Two weeks ago I finished writing my last novel, called The Twin Flame Resurrection, and have since been doing the basic first edit ready to send it out to my beta readers and get feedback before the first main edit. I plan to get it published by October, which is quite a tight deadline, but completely possible.

The Twin Flame Resurrection

But just to make things interesting, I have decided to keep writing, and start the next Twin Flame book in the series, tomorrow. I did the same thing last year – within two weeks of finishing The Twin Flame Reunion, I wrote The Twin Flame Retreat, and I wrote it in a crazy two weeks.

After reading a very interesting post by Russell Blake on how to sell loads of books, I was interested to see that his 6th point was to do 25% marketing, and 75% writing. I would say that currently, I have been doing the exact opposite. I market a lot more than I write. And I have decided to change this around.

Also, my numbers for the Earth Angel series have changed. I am now thinking that there is likely to be thirteen books in the series in total, and if I were to stick to my current formula of publishing one Earth Angel book per year, I figure it will be 2023 before the final book is released.

That is just too far away!

So, the only way to increase the number I publish each year and get the series out faster is to write more than I market (and procrastinate). I am also desperate to get writing another trilogy I have in mind and more books in the Visionary Collection. In which case, I really do need to just keep writing.

So there may be a few less blog posts over the coming month again, as I throw myself fully into another novel. I have to admit, I haven’t got a clue what will be happening in this one, which characters will appear, what dramas will unfold or who might not make it to the final page, but I’m excited to be jumping back into that world so quickly, because everything seems to flow so much better when there isn’t too much of a gap in between books.

If you are a fan of the Earth Angel series, and there a character you would like to see featured in the next book, comment below or on Facebook or Twitter. I will see what I can do!

Hello, it’s Aria! (Yes, I’m a Faerie)

Finally! I have been waiting for ages for Michelle to be too busy to blog and for her to ask me to write one! She keeps saying about creating a blog just for me, but has she done it yet? No! Of course, she’s just too busy. Humph.

Oh, yeah, by the way, it’s Aria. I’m a Faerie. Yep. You read that right. I have dragonfly wings and everything. And I’m a super fast flier. Just ask Linen. If you don’t know who Linen is, and want to know more about just how awesome I am, then you should read Michelle’s book – The Earth Angel Training Academy. I’m one of the main characters, and I have all the best lines. Cos, well, you know. I’m awesome.

So anyway, Michelle is busy editing the new book in the Earth Angel series (which I’m not in, which totally sucks!) and so I said I would take over, though I have no idea what to say, really.

It seems like the weather in the UK is a little messed up at the moment, with far too much rain for summertime, which means that lots of mushrooms have started growing in the woods, which I kind of like, actually. Here’s some cool photos of them, in case you were curious.

Michelle has started doing a card a day mini readings on Instagram, where she’s also posting lots of funky photos, if you want to follow her, hop on over there. Personally I think she likes Instagram too much, and spends too much time on there that could be spent building my blog, but nevermind. One day, eh?

Until then, I’ll just take over her blog every now and then, though next time, I promise I’ll have something more interesting to say. Maybe. Hopefully. Anyway, have a great day, and don’t forget to say hi to the Faeries when you’re outside. Okay. Love you! Bye!

PS. Let the grass grow!!!
