Yesterday, we went to the Positive Living Fayre in Monmouth, organised by Niki of the magical Peace of Stone. The weather was beautiful, the people were fabulous and I for one had a great time! I had discussions about alien … Continue reading
Exciting developments!
What a great day! Woke up this morning with no clue what to call my new book, or any idea whatsoever of what to put on the cover of it.
With a meeting scheduled with my cover designer, Jason Mordecai, at 11.30am, this was a slight problem!
Over a cup of tea with a friend, we did a little brainstorming and by the end of it, not only did we have a title, but we had a very cool concept for the graphics too.
So I set off to my meeting with Jason, feeling quite excited about the new ideas. I got there a little late (I have yet to travel around Cardiff and not get lost!) but we set to work, and before I knew it, it was 3pm! But by then we not only had the rough design for the new book, but we had tweaked and perfected the designs he had created for two of my other books.
I decided this year to have the covers of The Earth Angel Training Academy and The Earth Angel Awakening redesigned before the release of the third book in the series. Jason did the initial designs a few months ago, but I have been keeping them to myself for the launch this summer. I really think they are amazing, and I cannot wait to reveal them to everyone!
I have decided to reveal the name of the new book, literally only thought of this morning, and it is: (imagine drumroll here)
The Other Side of The Earth Angel Training Academy.
I know it seems like a very long title, but the official title will be The Other Side, the rest is a subtitle. Explanation needed? Okay, here goes:
Originally, the third book in the series was going to be the same story as The Earth Angel Training Academy, but told from the point of view of the Golden Age Children. This was because though they are mentioned in the story, they do not have much of a voice. So the working title all along was The Children of the Golden Age. But, as anyone who knows me will know, I do not plot my books, and often have very little say over what comes out when I start writing. Though in this new book, the stories of the Children will be told, they are not the main feature. Quite quickly, as I started writing, I realised that the male characters of the story (all of whom are secondary characters in the first book) were speaking up. They wanted their stories told and they refused to be quiet! It has been very interesting to see their side of the story, and I must admit, once I gave up fighting them (I wanted the Children and Aria to be the main characters!) the story began to flow and it has brought some interesting revelations…
So, it is literally the other side of the story. It is the story of the male characters, and also the Children. It is all of the stories that I did not get to discover and write about in the first book. Though just to be clear, because I don’t want to disappoint anyone, no, the Leprechaun incident it still not spoke about in any detail!
Perhaps it will be in the next book in the series…
Positive Living Fayre Monmouth
I had a lovely day in Peace of Stone last Saturday, chatting to customers and doing some writing, for anyone in the area, Peace of Stone now has 5 of my books in stock, as I took in copies of Heaven Dot Com. There are also copies of Angela Raasch’s book – A Manual Blessed by Angels.
This coming Saturday, the 29th, Peace of Stone are holding their Summer Positive Living Fayre, in the Priory in Monmouth. I will be there with my books, and a number of my dear friends will be there too 🙂 Sarah Jane will be there doing sessions (you do not want to miss her, get there and put your name on the list), Angela Raasch will be there doing Angelic Healing, (I’ve had a session with Angela, was quite eye-opening!) Claire Weeks of Random Vintage will be there with her gorgeous wares, Alison will be offering massage to the weary and Ginnie will keep the beat going with some Shamanic drumming. I can’t wait!
There will also be some lovely gifts and a café serving yummy treats, so please come along if you are in the area, and if you’re not, tell your friends who might be!
Book Reviews
Book reviews. Most people see them as necessary for book sales, the more (good) reviews a book has, the more it is likely to sell. They’re also very useful to readers, they can check out the opinions of other readers before they try the book themselves. Sometimes, they are simply used as a way for people to vent, rant or abuse the author or even other readers.
But for me? They provide me with the motivation I need to write. When I get stuck with my writing, when I wonder if I should continue, all I need to do is read some of my book reviews, and it reminds me that there are people out there waiting to read my next book. Waiting to see what the characters do next. Who are cheering me on and who have supported me in my career so far.
To make the most of this, the other day I printed out some of my reviews, and stuck them on my wall.
I want to thank every one of them for inspiring me every day, and to let readers know that your review is more than just a way to give your opinion. It may mean more to the author than you think.
Which led me to realise that I have read hundreds of books in my life, but I have been very lax in writing reviews for them. So I have decided to write a review every time I read a new book, and also to begin leaving reviews for books I have read in the last few years.
After all, what if my words are the very thing the author needs to read to continue with their work?

Seven interesting things about me –
1. I only wear fluffy bed socks, and they have to be inside-out, I hate the seam against my toes.
2. I wrote my first poem at the age of 8, in the middle of the night, and it was just four lines long.
3. I had a pet slow-worm as a child. In fact, several, as the cats used to catch them, I’d nurse them back to health then release them.
4. I used to travel astrally while asleep as a very young child. My favourite thing to do was to fly down the stairs and around the house. It was always interesting when I tried to re-create that when awake…
5. I have a very weird accent. I am originally from Wales, but have never had a Welsh accent, even as a child in Welsh school. Over the years I have been asked if I am from America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England or even South Africa. I like to think of it as being a Universal accent 🙂
6. I have a happy memory pot on my window sill, with a pen and paper next to it. Every time something good happens, I write it down on a piece of the paper, fold it up, and put it in the pot. My Christmas present to myself will be to open all these little notes to myself and read about all the wonderful things that have happened this year.
7. My lucky number is 7. It is also my life path number 🙂
